About Jon Hays

Jon Hays is a Virginia attorney who helps individuals and families handle legal challenges with clarity, practical counsel, and determined advocacy. Through the Law Office of Jon F. Before practicing law, Jon served 23 years in the military, first as an enlisted Marine and later as an officer in the Army National Guard, retiring in 2020. That experience shaped how he works: disciplined preparation, direct communication, and a commitment to showing up for the people who count on him.

Jon earned his Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Old Dominion University in 2008 and his Juris Doctor from West Virginia University College of Law in 2013. In addition to law, he has spent years working in technology and infrastructure and has taught at the university level, experience that gives him a practical, problem-solving perspective that goes beyond the courtroom.

Born and raised in Hampton Roads, Jon is returning home to the Middle Peninsula and bringing his practice with him. He is committed to serving the communities of Gloucester, Mathews, Middlesex, the Northern Neck, and surrounding areas, places that deserve the same quality of legal representation available anywhere in Virginia.

When he's not working, Jon can usually be found on the Chesapeake Bay, traveling, or spending time with family and friends.
